Fox and Field Cabin is a quaint and rustic Kentucky cabin residing within 250 yards of the beautiful Cumberland River provides a quiet and peaceful retreat. The river access point features a well-kept and private gravel boat launch ramp that is just a short float downstream from the nationally recognized “Rainbow Run”. When the water levels are low you will also enjoy a beautiful gravel bar that is perfect for family trout fishing. Cabin includes a fire pit and gas grill. Great for couples, families and solo adventurers.
Fox & Field is off of the beaten path with the nearest Walmart about thirty minutes away, but it is perfect for trout fishing as it is within five miles of both Helm’s Landing and Winfrey’s Ferry Cumberland River boat launch ramps, as well as, the onsite private boat launch ramp that is just a few hundred yards from the cabin itself.
Also of note… Wolf Creek Dam, Fish Hatchery, & Wildlife Hatchery Creek Stream are about fourteen miles away and are a must-see experience for all guests who enjoy fishing.
Please note that there is no wifi or telephone service; however, AT&T subscribers typically have an adequate level of cell signal.
We give our guests plenty of space but we are available when needed. In most cases, we will meet guests at the cabin for check-in and make sure that you have everything that you need. You will have access to the full cabin.
Other things to note:
If you are traveling with your family, feel free to contact us for special pricing as we can sometimes offer you a special rate when it comes to the fee incurred for additional guests.
The cabin is outfitted with baseboard heat and window air conditioner units rather than central heat and air, and while there is a TV with a DVD player there is no cable or satellite service.
At this time, we are unable to accept pets of any size.
The access road to the cabin is a one-lane blacktop road. It was recently paved and it has two bridges. The bridges do not have a posted weight limits; although, they are maintained by the Department of Transportation. While the access road is well-kept, the one lane road (11 feet wide) across the main bridge makes the entryway a bit challenging for boats larger than a bass boat or small ski boat; however, drift boats, bass boats, and small ski boats (21′ or less) should have no issues.
