2021 Bassmaster Tournaments Converge on Lake Cumberland

Russell County, Kentucky – Bassmaster is the World Leader in Bass Fishing events, and the Bassmaster Tournaments represent every level of fishing competition – from Junior & High School all the way up to the Elite, Academy Sports Bassmaster Classic.

On April 30 – May 1st, the 2021 Carhartt Bassmaster College Series Tour descends on Jamestown, Kentucky at Halcomb’s Landing by Wolf Creek Dam!  The competition begins on April 30th and concludes on May 1st.  Based on feedback from coaches and anglers, for 2021 all regular season tournaments will be two-day events with the full field fishing both days. The National Championship will still be a three-day event. Due to overwhelming interest in the series, B.A.S.S. will once more cap the field size at 250 boats. Those teams who register but remain on the waitlist for the four regular season events will enjoy an opportunity to qualify for the National Championship via the Wild Card tournament June 23-24 on Alabama’s Lay Lake.  “The Bassmaster College Series has always been about giving young anglers a chance to compete, said Hank Weldon, tournament director.  “While we want to limit field size at events, it was important that we not limit the opportunity for these teams. The Wild Card event is a great way to ensure any team that couldn’t compete previously still has a shot at fishing for a national title.

There are no off limits and the anglers may participate and pre-fish unlimitedly prior to the event.  The Official take off for the college series takes place on April 30th at 7:00 am central with the weigh-in at 3:00 pm central at Halcomb’s Landing by Wolf Creek Dam.

The Tournament Fishing Action continues on May 2nd when High School Fishing Teams from across the U.S. come to Halcomb’s Landing in Jamestown, Kentucky for the Mossy Oak Bassmaster High School & Junior Series Open.  High School anglers will fish a one-day tournament with a maximum of 250 High School teams, and an additional 50 boat Junior Field with 3 people per boat.  Take off for this highly anticipated event happens on May 2nd at 7:00 am central with weigh-in at 3:00 pm cst.  Both take off and weigh-in will occur at Halcomb’s Landing by Wolf Creek Dam in Jamestown.

“Russell County is thrilled to host this very prestigious event and the economic impact will be huge”, says Russell County Tourism Director Janette Marson.  Marson went on to say, “There will be about 2,000 participants and just about all of those participants will be bringing family members along with them, and if you add in the additional fans and friends, we will have thousands of people all staying overnight, buying gas, groceries, and eating in the various restaurants. The magnitude of the economic impact will be felt for quite some time and we could not be more thrilled that Bassmaster chose Lake Cumberland in Russell County for their tournaments.”

The Bassmaster Tournament in Jamestown, Kentucky on Lake Cumberland is a Bass Fishing Tournament & participants will be competing to qualify for a Bassmaster National Championship for scholarships.
