Get outside with your family and enjoy some of Kentucky’s best hiking trails. The Lake Cumberland area is famous for outdoor adventure and offers guests several hiking trails to enjoy. Fresh air and sunshine is just what everyone needs and our trails continue to be open to the public.
Jamestown Kentucky is home to both the Lake Cumberland State Resort Park and Wolf Creek National Fish Hatchery and both have some pretty great hiking trails to explore.
Lake Cumberland State Resort Park is one of the most popular parks in Kentucky and has two trails for you to explore.
The Baugh Branch Trail is 1.6 miles one way with level terrain and an easy grade. The end of the trail is rather steep.
Another trail at the Lake Cumberland State Resort Park is the Lake Bluff Trail, trailhead located at activities center, numerous road crossings that allow for variations of length, ends at lake overlook, steep slopes and rough grades.
The Wolf Creek National Fish Hatchery has a number of lovely Kentucky hiking trails. There is a trail that follows Hatchery Creek all the way to the Cumberland River. Another trail is the Nature Explorer Trail which passes through a number of ecosystems, winding around Hatchery Creek and then back to the Wolf Creek National Fish Hatchery. Whispering Pines Trail is a very gentle trail within the Kendall Recreation Area.
