This gorgeous Kentucky cabin rental is located in Russell Springs and has an adjoining 60 acres of land that you will have total access to during your stay. The back part of the 60 acres overlooks Lake Cumberland which is one of the largest lakes in the country. There is a service road that you can use to walk down to the lake. Within the gated area you may ride ATV’s and bicycles or just take a nice walk. We frequently see deer and wild turkey on the property. The property is also located along the Sandhill Crane migration path. You may see them fly overhead or landing in the lake. There is a dairy farm across the street and we like to watch the dairy cows come in and out of the field during the day. Year-round you will see baby cows in the fields around the cabin.
We have added a very nice pontoon to our amenities and this boat is available for our guests to rent. Our property manager will launch and load the pontoon and can be hired to drive the boat for you if you just want a scenic cruise!

The vacation home sits on a wooded lot backing up to Corps of Engineers line and down to Greasy Creek on Lake Cumberland. For those more adventurous visitors, they can even hike down a trail to the lake for fishing, rock skipping, and swimming! We do provide a few fishing poles for use and your convenience.
The house boasts 4 very spacious bedrooms and 4 full bathrooms all updated and remodeled! Features real hardwood flooring throughout the first floor, brand new carpet upstairs in the bedrooms, and updated tile and flooring in baths. On the first floor you will find a large living room with a beautiful wood burning fireplace that opens to a large dining area and open kitchen. Swan Pond Bottom is a Fishing & Boating Haven with a private ramp on the Cumberland River & close to Lake Cumberland!
This well-appointed riverfront guest cabin in secluded, private area with breathtaking view of the adjacent Cumberland River. Located 4 1/2 river miles below the Wolf Creek Dam and steps from a private boat ramp offering easy river access. The ramp and a trailhead near the cabin leads to the water’s edge and an extensive stretch of wade fishing shoreline that continues upstream beyond the Blackfish Creek tributary which is well exposed during times of (COE) controlled low flow release from the Dam.
The Cumberland River is considered among the best trout fisheries east of the Mississippi River with rainbow, brown and brook trout aplenty. During low flow times there’s no better wade fishing spot on the river or place for walks along the river edge. Put in or take out your boat, canoe or kayak at the ramp. (We have a canoe at the cabin available for your use if you don’t bring your own.)
Wolf Creek Dam, the Wolf Creek National Fish Hatchery, Hatchery Creek Stream and Wetland Restoration Project, and ramp access to Lake Cumberland are a 15-minute drive from the cabin. (Hatchery Creek is always accessible for shore or wade fishing when the river flow is too high.) Lake Cumberland State Park is 30 minutes away, and Dale Hollow Lake is a 45-minute drive.
Wildlife abounds on the surrounding farm and developing nature preserve areas. Bald eagles in the winter and native and migratory birds, wild turkey, deer, and many other native species can be spotted throughout the year.
The cabin has a central living area with fully equipped kitchen with counter top seating for 6, full size fridge with ice-maker, washer-dryer and 1 1/2 indoor bathrooms and an outdoor enclosed shower. Two brightly lit bedrooms offer views of the river. One bedroom has a queen bed and twin daybed and the other has a full bed and a full/twin bunk bed, so for groups who don’t mind cozying up, the cabin can sleep 6 to 8. Large screened-in porch offers seating and a family size table for meals.

LOL is a perfect Kentucky cabin rental spot for groups and families. If you want to enjoy a very secluded but secure lake front vacation home, then LOL is the perfect place to visit. There is not another home anywhere in sight and there is little to no car traffic to speak of. Just the occasional turkey crossings. With only one other home in this beautifully landscaped retreat of 67 acres, you feel like you have your own estate as you enter into this private landscaped gated community. Let the kids go bike riding without supervision. There are great places to explore as well as all kinds of wildlife. Deer, turkey and more are abundant due to the lack of people and traffic. Feel free to bring your boats and trailers as you have unlimited parking available when you arrive.
Note: There is no lake access from our community unless you are an experienced hiker/climber. LOL is located on a very steep bluff at over 425 feet above the lake. LOL is all about the views and beauty of the lake and the surrounding vistas. Each of the five bedrooms are individually decorated with a theme in mind, all with flat screen HDTV with DirecTV. There is even an HDTV in the 2nd floor kitchen as well as one in the garage for guys when grilling out. So pack your bags, your clothes along with your food & drinks…. because we supply everything else you will need for your stay at “Look-Out Lodge on Lake Cumberland”. Oh yeah… and bring your tooth brush as well.
Questions on water access and nearest marina’s: Since we are 425 feet above the lake you would need to be an experienced hiker to make the trek. This is not recommended. The nearest marina is “Lake Cumberland Marina” off of Hwy 1383 in Russell Springs. We are 1.5 miles away from this marina by water but 14 miles away by road. We have a public boat ramp off of Hwy. 76 which is 12 miles away on Mill Hollow and is visible from our gated community.
