For those looking for a slower, more peaceful water adventure, the Cumberland River is one of the best Kentucky rivers for kayaking and canoeingShuttle services and kayak and canoe rentals are available near Wolf Creek National Fish Hatchery, with advance reservations recommended.

You may also rent kayaks and canoes at historic Campbell’s Creelsboro Country Store, where a shuttle service is available to take you to the launch at Helm’s Landing and, after a 12 mile float to the take-out point at Winfrey’s Landing, will bring you back to your car.   They can also pack a lunch and snacks for your journey!
